MUSIC MINISTRY

Music is an important part of life here at Southside.  Everyone is invited and encouraged to not only join in the singing of great songs during our corporate worship services, but to be a part of one of our ensembles. One of the most effective ways to help prepare our children, and adults for that matter, to be fully functioning followers of Jesus is to be involved in a church choral ministry. Among its many benefits, two specific foundational principals of our Christian faith are learned better by being in a choir than any other place. The first foundational principal is worship. Choral ministry, by design, trains believers to worship more authentically and intimately. Time is invested each week in learning how to sing, learning how to read music, discovering what Scripture says about music and singing, and how to prepare an acceptable “sacrifice of praise.” The second foundational principal is community. There is something that occurs as people learn to sing in harmony that defies definition. It reaches deep into us and binds us together, exploring the hidden recesses of our souls to touch us and transform us into more authentic and intimate worshippers.

Sanctuary Choir
If you are sixteen years old or above, you are invited to be a part of our Sanctuary Choir. We sing in the loft every Sunday morning and rehearse in the Choir Room every Sunday evening at 4:30 pm.

Children’s Choir
If you have a child Kindergarten - 5th grade, and they like to sing, we have a special
place for them. Our Young Musicians meet every Wednesday  evening during AWANA.
